Angelica Vella is spending her summer as a Business Development Intern with DOCUmation’s Houston team. A student at Texas Christian University, she’s majoring in Strategic Communication with a Certificate in Consultative Sales and a minor in Business. With a clear passion for sales, Angelica is using this internship to gain real-world experience and sharpen her skills.

Meet Angelica: Fast Facts

  • School: Texas Christian University, 2026
  • Major: Strategic Communication with a Certificate in Consultative Sales and a Minor in Business
  • Motivator: Personal growth — she thrives on challenging herself and stepping out of her comfort zone to learn and improve.
  • Fun (and fortunate!) Fact: She’s never had a headache!

Why She Chose DOCUmation

Angelica first learned about DOCUmation when Zack Mahan, Executive Vice President of DOCUmation DFW, visited her sales class. His introduction inspired her to learn more about the company.

After watching DOCUmation’s videos—including one from a past intern named Hayden—she was drawn to the program’s hands-on approach to sales.

“Since I already know sales is the career path I want to pursue, applying to this internship just made sense and aligned with my long-term goals,” she says.

What Stands Out Most

What’s impressed Angelica most so far is how authentic and genuine the people at DOCUmation have been. From day one, team members across Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, West Texas, and San Antonio have taken the time to connect with her beyond just day-to-day tasks. Those real conversations and meaningful interactions have made her feel like part of the team, even with offices spread across Texas.

Motivation and Growth

For Angelica, personal growth is what drives her. Since joining TCU’s Consultative Sales Program in October 2024, she’s embraced every challenge—from cold calling daily during her internship to presenting to more than 50 executives. Over the past nine months, she’s seen just how much she’s grown, both professionally and personally.

She credits this progress to consistently stepping out of her comfort zone and approaching each new opportunity as a chance to improve her skills and confidence.

A Win Worth Celebrating

Adjusting from a 15-hour class schedule to a 40-hour workweek has been one of Angelica’s recent wins. With a commute of nearly an hour each way, she’s refined her time management and built a routine that allows her to stay focused and fully present during her workday.

Who She Admires

Angelica admires her parents for their drive, courage, and ability to lead by example. “They moved to the United States while raising me and my sister, and watching them build their careers while prioritizing family has shaped who I am,” she says. Their resilience and focus inspire Angelica to approach her internship with the same level of intentionality—making the most of every opportunity to learn, grow, and build the foundation for a successful sales career.

Outside the Office

When she’s not working or studying, Angelica enjoys baking—especially chocolate chip cookies and coffee cake—doing SoulCycle, walking outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. She also tunes into podcasts by Mel Robbins and Emma Chamberlain for inspiration.

Looking Ahead

Angelica’s advice to her freshman self? “Find something you love to do and actually explore it. Surround yourself with people who inspire you, because being around driven and motivated people makes all the difference.”

With her passion for sales, dedication to growth, and focus on authenticity and intentionality, Angelica is well on her way to building a successful career.
